Escape the HEAT!

Bennett and I were lucky enough to be able to
escape the heat for 4 days!
Of course we went to UTAH and
the weather did not disappoint! it was such a fun trip to
hang out with family and friends. The last
night I was there Laura and I threw a shower for Jen
and it was a fantastic party!
Lots of fun friends came. Thanks to the Hubster, and
Mother in law, Carolyn for
allowing this and watching
the other 2 while I was away!

Upon our arrival, my sister Melanie and Husband
Nick put on a Salmon feast for us!
It was DELISH..

Ohhh how we LOVE the beach!! This trip was planned in January. Our friends the Young's invited us and we couldn't wait! Went to the beach everyday and the kids were in PURE heaven! It was such a fun trip with GREAT company! Thanks again Josh and Heather!

15 days later i am back to the blow torch!!
It is so HOT here and i miss spending my days outside!
The kids had such a blast with all their cousins.
It's sad to not be close to home.

It really happened...my little man/boyfriend turned 3!!!!
Crew is the funnest little boy to have around!! He makes all of us happy!
Crew spent the day with KATE doing his favorite things!
It started with the bounce house
water slide, then to the floor to watch the Bernstein Bears with popcorn,
then dad came home and we ate pizza and CREWs delicious BATMAN
carrot cake!! YUMMMM. Fun day with the kiddos!

So all most the whole fam came in town to CELEBRATE
the Blessing of Bennett. It was so GREAT!
The house was full and we had a lot of fun together!
The trip started off with this...(above) defrosting the wretched outside
freezer. Umm lets just say that I dont ever want to have to do that again.
I guess I should also say that I owe all the hard work to my
brother Greg and mom. I was there assistant in getting the boiling water
and bringing it to them!!

After that was finished it was play time...
My brother in law Jamey's only request was that we hit up
Val Vista Lakes! He loves that place and I can't argue especially on
a 95 degree day!! It was fabulous lounging in the sun!

I need to snap some better pictures of this guy.
He is so stinkin cute and such a good baby.
My little man has been sleeping through the
night for the last all most 3 weeks, pretty sure this little
miracle has happened cause he found his thumb.
Another monster that I will deal with later...RIGHT?

So my very first time alone with all 3 kids...I need to nurse the babe
and Kate and Crew want water balloons filled up so they can jump with them.
I told them to run upstairs and get their swim suits on and
I just needed to feed the baby and then I would come out and fill up the balloons!
5 minutes later it was silent and so I asked Kate to come down..what are you guys doing???
Nothing mom....
Now I know that I have to go up in between.
There sits Kate and Crew in the loft
with a pile of hair on Kates lap and a pair of scissors.
WHAT ....
I did not know whether to cry or laugh??
Well it's done and gone.

Kate gave Crew a haircut and he gave her one. Crew
kept apologizing for cutting Kate's hair. OHWELL
I think I have secretly always wanted to give Kate this haircut but never
had it in me to do!! So perfect right!!
I called over my friend Leah and she gave Kate the haircut.
I did not have it in me to do it!!
Crew was a redneck all week with a huge patch cut out in the back that was
an inch short. He just got his cut yesterday and friend Tawnya did it!!!

There was 10 inches in the ponytail and an additional 2 inches to even it out!!

Kelli's Annual visit with her oldest Eislee!! We had so much fun! Due to the fact
that I am 2 weeks away from having baby and obviously hiding the belly in this picture...haha, we did not do a lot of shopping like we usually do!! Just hung at home with the kids!! Kel flew into action around here and started to organize/redecorate my house! It was amazing! All projects mentally on my list before baby but none were going to get done considering the fact that I have not even gotten the baby room ready!! It was fabulous to catch up! So January 3 Kate turned 4!! I can't believe how
big she is and independent! She is the BEST thing that happened to
our little family!! We LOVE her so much and don't know what we
would do with out her! She is my little partner in crime everyday

I know that I may be just a little behind but
I have to kind of catch up cause I missed
posting some fun events!!
We decided this year to rent a cabin up
in FLAGSTAFF and all go spend 2 nights!
It was so much fun! There was snow outside and the cabin
was perfect! The kids had so much fun together. Nana Made
sugar cookies for the kids to decorate and we had amazing food
the whole trip with a never ending pot of HOT CHOCOLATE!!
It was a PARTY!!

You would think it was CHRISTMAS!!
Seriously...we arrived in SLC for Thanksgiving and the snow
would not stop falling!! We were in heaven and the kids
even more in heaven! It was a GREAT trip. If it is going to
be 15 degrees it sure as heck must be WHITE outside!

We made Gingerbread houses
with the kids on day and that was fun. Crew just licked the frosting and

I think the highlight of the trip was the final night of
SLEDDING!! It was Sunday night and and the snow was just
pouring down. I told Steve, bro...Greg and Bro in Law Jamey to
gear up for some fun! We tied 3 sleds to the back of my dads
truck and just tore around through the hood!! They were flying
left to right and having the time of their lives!! It was awesome and
I must say I was a bit JEALOUS!!

So these are my 6 girlfriends that I went to high chool with. For all who don't know JAMLAJ stands for Jennie, Ashlee, Marianne, Laura, Alexis, and Jamie! I know we are kind of special for naming ourselves! We came up with in the 8th grade and it stuck and is still there! Awesome! Crazy that we have been close friends for that LONG!! Anyways...it was a blast. We were able to spend the weekend together and shop, (stay up super late thanks to Ashlee!!!) and do all that we do when together! Thanks Girlies for coming into town...it was a PARTY!!!

FALL trip to UTAH!

Here we go again!! I decided to ditch out on our
August trip to UTAH and hold out for the FALL...It was
so worth it!! I love the weather, the Leaves, the cool
nights and all the fun things to do and see in OCTOBER!
It was so fun for the kids to hang out around the
clock with their cousins! They were in heaven. I think I may
need to invest in a tramp. They jumped probably 3 hours a day!

5 YEAR Anniversary

Well our dream was to be in Hawaii or
somewhere exotic but that did not happen. HAHA
We did get a good little 24 hour break! We dropped the kids off
at Aunt Meghans. I Went and got a pedicure and then we
went to lunch and
saw a movie. We stayed at the Westin at Kierland and it
was FABULOUS! Yummy dinner at Brio and
a little Maternity shopping at H&m. (So fun for Steve!)

Well she is 3 1/2 and off to school with her back pack
which she does not even need. Her teacher is
Mrs. Heather and she absolutely LOVES her.
Crew was so sad to have her leave us. She is a little
learning machine and can't wait to tell me all the fun
things that she does. On the first day we pulled up and I told
her that I did not want her to go to school
and she turned to me and said "mom I am ready to be a big girl"
What....ya I was blown away and so sad.
Hilarious though that she knows!

that happened 3 weeks ago! We went to CALIFORNIA
with Nana and Papa LeSueur and had a BLAST! It
was a short trip but enough time to hit the beach up and
spend some good quality time hanging out! Kate and Crew
could not get enough of course. Kate is Miss fearless and could careless
about the temp of the water or should i say the day! And as long
as Crew is with his DAD he will do anything! Fun trip!

Girls Camp 2010

Well these 2 pictures can sum up my week! I went up a day and a
half early with the 4th years and we got to really stretch our limits
with an 8 hour race! We got to do a wild goose chase with the GPS
for about 5 miles, biked about 10 on super rocky terrain,
shot guns,
learned to shoot an ELK with a bow if that chance ever crosses my path,
repelled and the finale was cliff jumping! and lots more stuff!
It was a great challenge and my Girls Olivia and Kourtney
were rock stars!! It was so fun to meet up with the rest of our ward
and get to know all the leaders better!

Seriously this was so much fun!! JAMLAJ reunited in Vegas for a fun girlies trip!
We were all best friends in High School and its so fun
that we can meet up and have just as fun. I felt so young the whole trip!.
We will keep this tradition going....
We did some fun shopping, sat at restaurants as long as our hearts desired,
went to the show Le Reve, and stayed up really late chatting away.

After the show we ditched our high heels and took off down the strip in our sweats!
We rode New york New York roller coaster and that was so fun!

Every year I get the privilege to be apart of the Crown Council for a week! It is a big dental Convention held once a year and it's always in different locations! Fabulous week with amazing speakers and such a great little break from the chillins! For more info Crowncouncil.com

So I am a little behind! Her birthday was on January 3.
She shares the same birthday with her Nana.
Kate is such a delightful girl to have around. She
Is so smart and does not miss a thing! I am so blessed
to be her Mommy! Kates favorite thing in the whole
world is to ride her princess bike! She is good at it too!
She loves her brother and is always helping me by
"babysitting" him. He loves her too. They are two little
partners in crime! Kate loves to be with her daddy and

I LOVE when we get to go to UTAH for Christmas! It's only natural for me cause hello you can't have a green with Palm Tree Christmas! I need LOTS and LOTS of White Snow everywhere! Well we were not failed. We got it! The 22 and 23 it poured snow for 24 hours straight! I LOVED every minute of it. We had so much fun with the family and had lots of fun dinners and lots of craziness with all the kids! We also stayed up late talking about how everyone was getting robbed in the neighborhood and thinking that we should be sleeping with guns by our sides. So Friday mid morning 11 am I was sitting in my recliner, breakfast had yet to be cleaned up. I was totally depressed That I was not in Utah for Conference weekend and to enjoy the crisp FALL weather and beautiful AUTUMN leaves. I must admit that this is THE time of year I really wish that I lived in UTAH. It's my birthday month and I think that I should just pack up and go for a month!! Anyways back to the recliner...Crew was sleeping and Kate was happily playing by herself cause MOM was out of commission. I had just got off the phone with a friend that had talked me into taking the kids to an open gym so they could run around and play. I was not excited but knew I should get out! Then there was a very loud KNOCK at my front door. Kate sprinted (anyone that could save her day) and lo and behold it was my sister for a SURPRISE visit!!!!!!! What this was the best thing ever! Suddenly the energy came flying out of my body and we startted to make all our shopping plans of all the places we needed to go and check out. It was such a treat! Thanks Michelle, the DR. that she works for for taking a vaca and Delta Airlines for having a last minute weekend fare so that you could bounce down here for 5 days! It was so fun to make Pies and watch conference together and just have you around. The kids loved it also!

My sister Michelle moved in to our house the first of October. She said that it would be about 2 weeks till she found a place and moved in with room mates. Well 8 1/2 months later she is leaving us. She never found that place to go live with friends so we were lucky enough to have her here with us. We are so sad today and her room is cold and depressing. Kate is so sad too. Thanks Michelle for coming and staying with us. Thanks for all your blessed help around here. Thanks for swooping in after work and helping with baths, dinner and clean up. Thanks for always cleaning everything and always making sure all the DVD"S were in there right spot.!! We will miss you so much! We LOVE you and will see you in JULY!! CAN'T WAIT! (and i think i am going to need a nanny after this!!!)

Crew our little handsome snuggle man Turned ONE this week!! We love him so much and he has been NOTHING but a JOY in our life. He is so happy and such a good baby! Crew is all most walking and gets so excited for himself every time he takes a step he has to take a moment and CLAP! Surviving On the Mercies of Motherhood

People think I’m crazy when I tell them I love childbirth. It’s not that I like pain—I don’t. But there is just something about working really hard to get something really good. My husband and I have the routine down: we do whatever it takes to get through a contraction, then I slump back on the bed, as limp and peaceful as a noodle (as peaceful as a noodle can be) and rest before the next one hits. It’s hard work, but when the baby is finally born, the pain doesn’t matter anymore—and I experience joy beyond description. (Then I swear I’ll never do it again.)

It has recently occurred to me that childbirth can be one huge metaphor for motherhood. We “labor” day in and day out, moment by moment—scrubbing, brushing, wiping, flushing, buckling, holding, washing, folding—it’s a wonder more mothers don’t drop from pure exhaustion!

So here’s my theory: Heavenly Father knew how challenging motherhood would be for each of us—physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. So He sends us “mother mercies.” You know the moments—the ones that sneak up on you and make you smile or laugh—or teary-eyed. It’s like the time I caught a whiff of my five-year-old and realized he’d put on his daddy’s deodorant that morning. Or when he used to pray nightly, “Please bless that morning will come in five minutes.” It’s the time I found a bar of soap in my bathroom with one (and only one) set of teeth marks in it. Or when my preschooler asked me, “Why did Jesus cover our bones with skin?”

Perhaps these little mercies are like the pauses between our contractions of motherhood—the moments that make us say, “Oh yeah. I really love this mothering stuff.”

Contraction: Baby spits up.
Mother Mercy: Three-year-old cries in alarm, “Mom! She’s spilling!”

Contraction: Five-year-old climbs on counter to find sweets.
Mother Mercy: He explains he was simply finding desert for “Family Home Ming-Ming.”

Contraction: Patting your squishy tummy left over from pregnancy.
Mother Mercy: Patting your baby’s squishy tummy that you got in return.

Contraction: Feeling overwhelmed and grumpy.
Mother Mercy: Oldest child says sweetly, “Mommy, if you say a prayer, Heavenly Father will help you feel better.”

Think about it—what an interesting phenomenon—in our very hardest moments of mothering, Heavenly Father sends us these little flashes of reprieve to help us keep going with a smile. True, we have diapers and back-talking and tantrums and spills, but we also get kisses and first steps and stick-figure drawings and hand-pulled bouquets.

Look for the Mother Mercies in your own life. I promise they will pop up everywhere—when your toddler trips the alarm at the library (like mine did) or when he pours pop down the bowling alley lane (yes, mine) or when you find your envious child stripped down to his nothings at the park, staring longingly through the fence into the city pool (Whose kid is that? Oh, it’s mine). The Mother Mercies are always there. Don’t miss them! One Sunday while I was juggling my three little ones, an older sister in my ward leaned over and said, “This will all end someday, believe me.” To which I replied, “Oh don’t tell me that! I’m having so much fun.” Who knew that doing something so hard could bring me so much happiness? And just like the finale of childbirth, I’m hopeful that this mothering thing—this exhausting labor of love—will someday bring us joy we could never comprehend was possible.

I really do like camping. Ya I know that sharing a tent with babies might not be the best option but it was a blast. Kate woke in the night and started to cry of course it woke Crew up and then it was like dominos.....all the other babies. SO SORRY TO ALL! The weather was great! Crew was in heaven playing in the dirt and Kate got to roam FREE!

On January 3 Kate turned 2! It was such a fun day! She loved the whole day! We went sledding up at Steve and Emilys and that was a blast! There was so much snow. We just had a little party with my family and Kate loved every minute. Utah was a blast. Steve and I got to escape away to the slopes for a beautiful day of snowboarding! It was fun to be in the cold.

So...the week was a blast. My Mom, Dad and Greg all come and then my sister Melanie, Nick and there 2 kids. And of course Michelle who lives here with us! Despite the full house, the week was a party! We had the most fabulous Thanksgiving feast. We went kidless to dinner and a movie one night, stayed up late talking nightly and just had fun. Its so great when people come to visit cause it's kind of like we go on vacation too.

I do not know why I cant write above this picture but it's being weird. Anyway every morning Kate wakes up and we are headed down stairs and she says first that she wants to EAT and then comes "I want ANNIE" oh yes that is right the childs favorite movie is Annie. My long lost friend/room mate came in town for the weekend!! Well she is not really a lost friend we do chat most everyday and we see each other when i go up!! Anyway we had such a fun time together...She brought her daughter Eislee who is three and a half and her and Kate were goners the whole weekend, as in they played so well together! It was great. NO FIGHTING just happy as could be. We spent the weekend doing our favorite things. ..eating, shopping, talking and some more eating and then some more. We hit all our favorite joints here got a few babysiters and had such a blast. The time went way too quick! Kel thanks so much for coming, it was such a treat!

All of these pictures are all out of order, however HALLOWEEN was a blast this year! Kate was Pocahontas and Crew was a spider, the cutest spider you will ever see!... We loaded up and went to the Riggs to have a yummy dinner and then off for the CANDY! Kate was so much fun this year! At every house she mumbled something of which she thought was "trick or treat" but once they put the candy in her pumpkin, she investigated what it was then looked up and clear as a bell said "thanks"! It was so precious!Half the night she was on the buggy and Steve would just wheel her up to the door!
