Trip to the PHILIPPINES March 2008

Our Trip was such a blast. We went to Cebu, Philippines for 2 weeks to tour Steve's mission. It was such a treat to travel to all the little towns and see what he lived like for 2 years. I must say that I have been a lot of places and seen a lot of things, but I have never seen conditions like what Steve was used too. He did not mention to me that I would need my hiking boots for the trip..So here we are treking across mountains and rivers to get to these little huts where the people lived. Lots of blisters later (flip flops didn't cut it) it was all well worth it. It was such a treat to see the people light up when they saw his face and instantly remembered who he was. They could not believe that he would come back to visit. After about 5 days in Cebu we traveled by boat to Dumaguete, Bayawan/Negros. His all time favorite area where he spent the most time. We visited with different families there and got to hang out in there houses and enjoy each other. My Mom and Dad came on the trip with us, that was fun but the 3 of us were a little frustrated cause we could not understand the language. We went to church here and it was funny cause they had Steve and my Dad be the whole Sacrament meeting! It was neat. Then we went to another Island called Bohol and just relaxed. Over all it was a great trip! We missed Kate so much we could hardly stand it but it gave us both life to come home and be the best parents ever. She stayed home with Grandma Carolyn and Papa Warren and I think that is why we enjoyed our trip so much. She was in the best hands ever! Thanks so much again for loving our baby for us. Kate was so excited to see us and she never acted weird or clingy when we got back.
